Workshops for Children

Educational and fun workshops

Learn. Create. Imagine

The workshops below are aligned with the Visual Arts Australian Curriculum (Year 2-6) and can suit School Holiday Programs, Homeschooling Programs, or After School Hours during school term.

As an illustrator and museum professional, I have developed these programs to bring educational and entertaining content for children through a hands-on experience.

I have taught these workshops to over 200 students ages 8+ at different public libraries and museums in New South Wales.

Check out the upcoming workshops for 2024 below, or get in touch if you would like me to host any of these at your venue.

Character Design

How are characters in movies and picture books created? What makes a character interesting? In this workshop, learn how to draw the basic face features and different body sizes, and the shape language used by artists to design characters. Then draw and design your own!

Unleash Your Creativity

In this workshop, exercise your creative brain by learning how to do these three things that artists do: think in shapes, use your imagination, and spread your message! Expect dirty hands, quite a bit of mess, and lots of fun!

Museum Object Handling and Drawing

Where do objects in museums come from? What happens when they arrive in a museum? In this workshop, learn how to handle real museum objects like a pro and fun drawing techniques to interpret them.

Daniela was delightful to work with, exceptionally professional in her manner and communication and a joy to host. She was flexible and accommodating to our specific needs and those of the target audience, and comprehensive in her preparation and delivery. I would highly recommend Daniela to anyone interested in engaging her services.

Daniela was kind, patient and encouraging with the children attending her school holiday Character Illustration Workshop. She was very well prepared, came with lots of resources and materials and arrived early to allow plenty of time to set-up. Her illustration style is delightful; very accomplished, yet accessible. At the end, when I asked the children about the length of the workshop, (two hours), they all piped up and said they wanted it to continue, it was “too short!” You can’t get a better endorsement than that!
